Obituary of Daniel J. O'Brien

Daniel J. O'Brien, age 75, passed away unexpectedly in his home on the evening of March 28, 2022, peacefully entering God's Kingdom.

He is now reunited with his loving mother, brother, nephew, best friend, and many others.

He leaves behind the love of his life and soul mate of 50+ years, Bernadette A. O'Brien and their four children, Julie E. (Terry) Syverson, Kristina M. O'Brien, Timothy D. (Barbara) O'Brien, and Sarah J. (Kristian) Young.  He was also an amazing grandpa to six grandchildren, whom he adored so much that he would sit for hours on end as grandbabies would nap for hours on him, which he loved.  Daniel is also survived by his brothers, David Weller and Skipper Collier, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Daniel worked for the Department of Fish and Wildlife for over 40 years as a supervisor, who was well liked by all.  His passion for fish and wildlife extended beyond work as well. Fishing was one of his biggest passions in life.  He would fish as often as he could and loved to share this passion with his children, coworkers, and dear friends.

Daniel was not only a loving husband, father, and grandfather, but was also a father to anyone that needed one in their life.  He was loving and kind to all.

Daniel was notoriously loved by all who knew him.  He had an enormous heart and a shining soul that is rare in this world.  He was humble, selfless, kind, brilliant, hardworking, and exceptionally loving to all.  He didn't have an enemy in the world and he touched the lives of all who knew him.  His extremely kind heart resulted in an enormous amount of people loving him, more than he could ever have imagined.  He is dearly missed and the world is not the same without his beautiful heart and soul in it.

A Funeral Mass will be held for Daniel's family and friends at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 10:15 a.m.  This will be followed by a celebration of his life in the church’s Hallen Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Daniel's honor to LLTK.org, a salmon recovery program, as a way to keep this love and passion of his ongoing.

Please feel free to contact any of the family with any questions.  Thank you ALL for your incredibly loving support to our family during this extremely difficult time in our lives.  God Bless you all.
