Obituary of Raymond N. Glassburn

Ray Glassburn, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and amazing friend to all, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Kindred Hospital in Seattle, Washington.  Ray was born on May 14, 1953, in Tacoma, Washington, to D. Wayne and Leota Glassburn.

Ray is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lynette; son, Neal Glassburn; daughter, Lagina North, and son-in-law, Dan North; grandchildren, Harper, Rory, Coral and Forest; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  He also is survived by two siblings, Tim and Vince Glassburn.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Debbie Parsons; and brother, Ron Glassburn.

Ray adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.  They would bake cookies, make gingerbread houses every Christmas, build toys out of wood, give BB gun shooting lessons, visit local parks, and take day trips.

He also loved working on his property. Ray built their family home, raised cattle, and had a love for building model trains and wood-working.  His life was all about family and friends, hiking, camping, and ocean beaches.  Ray was very generous and would do anything for anyone in need at the drop of a hat.

A celebration of Ray’s life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, 3:00 p.m. at the home of Dan Lagina North, 13029 Rainer Acres Road SE, Rainier, Washington.
