Obituary of Maureen (Winfield) Weems

Maureen Alice “Mo” Winfield was born June 22, 1946, to Tom and Alice Winfield in Olympia, Washington. She graduated from Olympia High School in 1963, and worked for Rainbow Sports before joining the City of Olympia Parks and Recreation as a Recreation Specialist, and teaching a women's fitness class for 12 years. She was award The Circle of Spirit Award for 23 years of dedicated service to the City.

 

Maureen married Melvin Lynn Weems on June 1, 1968. She was an unbelievably kind and loving person. She had a great love for life, family, playing sports, chocolate, and her dog, Joey. She was a tree hugger and animal lover.  She also believed in the spirit of the Lord.

 

Maureen went to heaven on March 17, 2022, at the age of 75.  She is survived by her husband, Melvin, who was at her side when the passed; stepdaughter, Wendy Shaw of East Olympia; stepson, Jeffery Weems of Olympia; sisters and brothers-in-laws, Terry and Steve McLellan of

Arizona, and Pam and Larry Levine of Seattle. 

 

We will miss her love and energy.
