I did not know Dan very well. I met him very briefly. But in that time, I got to see firsthand what an incredible person that my Aunt JoNell had married. It was easy to see that they loved each other. There was that peace and ease about them that was just beautiful, and you just knew that there was love. Dan loved my two little ones immediately and showed such patience with them. Taking us out to see a family of otters. Giving much needed advice. And just being an absolute breath of fresh air. I am so glad to have met him.

“GranDan” as he was known to our children was a wonderful patient loving grandpa. Sharing his knowledge and hobbies gave him great joy. He was a wonderful support and friend to our family and a gentle loving husband to our Mom. He will be greatly missed. ~Jess Sarah Haden and Kelleen

Daniel was a good man who always had a smile and a story or a joke at the ready. He never stopped learning and he could talk to anyone, from strangers to salesman about all the things he was passionate about as if they were old friends. He married my Mother when they both had adult children and were coming out of very stressful times in their lives. I’m glad they found each other and were able share in fun, and sometimes goofy adventures together. From kaiaking to hiking and kite flying, from long trips to Hawaii and Jackson Hole to just running out to the beach or mountains, they just got to play. I’m grateful for the time they had together, he will be missed!
