Obituary of Wolfgang Klaus Henson

Wolfgang Klaus Henson passed away November 10, 2021, in Yelm, Washington, his home of 38 years.  He was born July 4, 1950, to Irmstraud Lisalotte Henson and Bonnie C. Henson in Tubingen, Germany.  Over the years, he also lived in Anchorage, Alaska (1959-1980), Juneau, Alaska (1980-1983), and Independence, Louisiana (1983-1989).

 

Wolfgang graduated from West Anchorage High School in June 1968.  He served in the U.S. Army Reserves (1969-1975), and married Vesper Carpenter on October 4, 1974, in Anchorage.

 

Professionally, Wolfgang worked for KIMO TV in Anchorage (1970-1975), the State of Alaska in Anchorage and Juneau (1975-1983), LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (1983-1989); drove a tour bus out of Bremerton, Washington, along with driving school bus for Yelm School District (1994-1998), and worked at Yelm Walmart (2001-2006).

 

He loved woodworking, and used his skill to create his and Vesper’s gorgeous bed, and podiums for two pastors who appreciate the beauty of them.  Wolfgang also used his skills volunteering with Habitat for Humanity the past five years.

 

He is survived by his wife, Vesper Henson of Yelm; son, Patrick Henson of Rainier, Washington; daughter, Dora Henson of Yelm; six grandchildren, Travis Freeman and Bryen Freeman of South Carolina, Chase Henson of Yelm, Clifford, Evan and Dominick Henson of Rainier.  He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Thomas Henson.
