Obituary of Louisa Fejeran Marquez

Louisa F. “Lisa” Marquez, loving mother, grandmother, and sister, was called to be with our Lord on November 6, 2021, from her home in Lacey, Washington. She was comforted by her sister, Dorothy, who was at her side.

Lisa was born May 30, 1956, to Maria F. Marquez and Francisco H. Marquez of Tamuning, Guam.  She dedicated her life to raising her children, Christopher, Charon and Calvin, the best that she could.  A strong-willed woman, she taught them to be strong, independent and resilient.  She left a legacy of love to all those she left behind.

Lisa served her country in the Guam Army National Guard, Active Duty Army, and for the Government of Guam.  She loved arts and crafts, and most of all, she loved her family.  She lived a life full of adventure.  She loved to dance hula as a young woman. Lisa loved the outdoors, planting, gardening and enjoying the beauty of what nature provided.  She would paint flowers and scenes of beautiful beaches and the ocean, scenes only those who saw the beauty of where she came from, Guam, and what our heritage represents.  She loved who she was and where she came from. Lisa loved everyone unconditionally.  She was a kind-hearted woman who placed the needs of others before herself.  She’s loved by countless friends and family.  She is an inspiration to all of us.

Lisa was greeted at the gates of heaven by her parents, Maria F. Marquez and Francisco H. Marquez; and her brothers, Antonio “Stranger” Marquez, Francisco “Frank” Marquez, Ricardo “Rick” Marquez, Pedro “Jeff” Marquez, and Mario Marquez.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Marquez, wife Joanne Jarin Marquez, and one grandson and two granddaughters, Jayden, Maile and Cassidy Marquez of Stafford, Virginia; her daughter, Charon Marquez Davila, husband Emmanuel Davila, two grandsons and one granddaughter, Julio, Adrian and Myana Davila of Columbia, South Carolina; son, Calvin Marquez of Minneapolis, Minnesota; brother, John Marquez and wife Pamela Bega Marquez of Lacey, Washington; sister-in-law, Elaine Gumataotao Marquez of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Severina “Sylvie” Gore, and husband, Howard Gore of Blythewood, South Carolina; brother, Feliciano Marquez, and wife, Emily Salas Marquez of Barrigada, Guam; sister, Carlina “Tracie” Marquez of Middleburg, Florida; sister, Dorothy Marquez of Lacey, Washington; brother, Raphael “Ralph” Marquez, and wife, Catherine Perez Marquez of Blythewood; and too many cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
