Obituary of Ronald Albin Fredson

Ronald Albin Fredson was born on April 11, 1932, to Imbie Joki Fredson and Albin Fredson in Two Harbors, Minnesota. As a boy, he explored the woods with his friends on the north shore of Lake Superior. As a teen, he played basketball for Two Harbors High School and graduated in 1950. In 1954, he graduated with a business degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth.

While in high school, Ron met the woman he would love for the next 69 years of his life, Peggy Carlson. They married on July 31, 1954. The following day, Ron received his draft notice. He went to Germany for two years and Peg joined him for 1 ½ years.

Afterward, Ron was hired by Pillsbury, who transferred them to Texas and then California. They raised two children, Lynn and Steve, primarily in Santa Ana and Orange, California. He worked a variety of jobs in financial management, but eventually became the CFO of C&D Aerospace.

Ron and Peg retired in Arroyo Grande, California. Throughout his life, Ron enjoyed gardening, golf, travel, friends and grandchildren. In his final years, they moved to Lacey, Washington, to be closer to family. Ron will be remembered as a fun, hardworking, caring person. He cared about people regardless of their position.

Ron passed away October 18, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Richard (Dugan) Fredson. His wife, Peggy, died two days after him. He is survived by his sister, Gayle Mozetti; his daughter, Lynn (Ronald) Byrnes; son, Steve (Leslie) Fredson; grandchildren, Basil, Desiree, Sean, Alison and Jeanette.

A memorial will be held for both Ron and Peggy on December 4, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1601 North Street SE, Olympia, WA 98501.
