Obituary of Harold L. Iversen

Harold L. Iversen passed away October 24, 2021, in Olympia, Washington.  He was born April 10, 1934, to Harold and Ruth Iversen in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Over the years, he also lived in on Camano Island, Washington, for 24 years, and in Seattle.

 

Harold graduated from the University of Wyoming.  He served in the U.S. Navy, and worked as an engineer for Boeing before opening his own company, Pacific Engineering.  He was a volunteer firefighter on Camano Island, and King County Search and Rescue volunteer for 17 years.

 

Harold was an old fashioned gentleman, who was smart and had a wonderful sense of humor.  He was adventurous, energetic, creative, outgoing, funny and loving. He loved to cook and bake, and was the best ever husband and father.  He was a member of Calvary Chapel in Yelm, Washington.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Adele of Olympia; sons, Mark Iversen of Vancouver, Washington, Carl Iversen of Blaine, Washington, and Jerry Hendrickson of North Chesterfield, Virginia; daughters, Sandy Iversen of Bend, Oregon, and Cherie Yost of Olympia; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Rosemary Herrell of Federal Way, Washington, Ramona McNeil of Chatham, Illinois, and Gretchen Bolinger of Yuma, Arizona.

 

There will be a graveside service at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, WA 98042.  A second service will be held at Calvary Chapel in Yelm.  Please contact the family for dates and times.

 

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
