Obituary of Geraldine "Carrol" Clark

Geraldine “Carrol” Clark passed away October 14, 2021, in Olympia, Washington, her home of 10 years.  She was born October 9, 1953, to Geraldine “Gerrie” Rae Mendoza and Richard D. Mendoza in in Seattle, Washington.

 

Carrol attended Ballard High School.  The love of justice propelled her to get a BA degree in Criminal Justice, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Seattle University in 1996.  She built a career as a paralegal in downtown Seattle.

 

Carrol married Greg Clark in Waukegan, Illinois, in 1994.  The couple shared 27 years of married life, and did life together for a total of 32 years.

 

Carrol was known best for loving her family and friends.  She would fiercely champion the underdog, and was known to take in any person or animal that needed a home.  Carrol loved being an active member of the Nisqually Tribe, and becoming more connected with the Native Heritage.  It was an honor for her to be part of something bigger.

 

Carrol also was known for her fiery passion and her zest for life.  She was a spitfire who taught others to stand for what is right and to not compromise their convictions.  She taught that loyalty and character were more important than anything in this world.  Carrol left a burning legacy through her family and loved ones that will never be extinguished.

 

She is survived by her husband, Greg Clark of Olympia; daughters, Lynnette Smith of Auburn, Washington, and Patricia Huizar of Kent, Washington; six grandchildren; and sister, Carmen Turberville of Marysville, Washington. She was predeceased by her parents.

 

There will be an Ash Ceremony on Saturday, October 30, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Frank’s Landing, 11110 Conine Ave. SE, Olympia, WA 98513.  This will be followed by a meal at the Nisqually Youth Center, 1937 Lashi St. SE, Olympia, WA 98513.
