Obituary of Linda Egge

Linda Egge passed away May 24, 2021, in Olympia, Washington.  She was born in 1947 to Richard C. and Harriett D. Springgate in Shelton, Washington.  She grew up in West Seattle, graduating from West Seattle High School in 1965.  She married David Abbott and had three children, David R. Abbott (Dawn), Robert W. Abbott (Cassandra), and Joanne Abbott Sutley (Bruce). 

Linda moved from Seattle to Puyallup and then to Olympia, Washington.  She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for 15 years under Pastor Accordy.  She continued her education at South Puget Sound Community College as a medical assistant/secretary. 

Linda met and married Wayne Egge in 1996 while working at Olympia Federal Savings in customer service.  She added three stepchildren, Steve Egge (Kim), Lorri Johnstone, and Keith Egge.  Along with this wonderful addition to the family are grandchildren, Caitlyn, Colin, and Lindsey. Sutley/Abbott grandchildren are Brian, Thomas, Katherine, Amanda, Jeffrey, Megan, Ellie and Austin. Linda also had two brothers, Richard A. Springgate (deceased) and Robert W. Springgate.

“My faith in God sustained me through life.  My family and extended family were my gift and blessing.  My husband was my greatest partner, loving me through our years together.”

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 28, 2021, at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501.  The viewing will take place at 12:00 p.m., followed by the service at 1:00 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance for leukemia research.
