Obituary of Maureen Rae McNeil

Maureen Rae McNeil, 71, passed away April 22, 2021, in Olympia, Washington, her home of 32 years.  She was born October 21, 1949, to Ray John and Nora Navin in Seattle, Washington. She also lived in Hoodsport, Washington, from 1974 to 1989.

 

Maureen graduated from Lincoln High School in 1967 and Griffin Murphy Business College in 1968.  She married Patrick McNeil at Holy Family Catholic Church in White Center on August 25, 1973. Prior to becoming a homemaker, Maureen worked as a secretary at Chubb Insurance and as a bank teller at Hood Canal Bank. 

 

Maureen was strong, dependable, witty, warm, giving, kind, and genuine. She loved gardening, baking, crocheting, and watching TV (especially sci-fi, news, and action movies).  She especially loved spending time with her grandkids and collecting family treasures. 

 

She is survived by her loving husband, Patrick McNeil; sons, Kevin McNeil and wife Jennifer, and Ryan McNeil and wife Alida Johnson; grandson, Brendin McNeil; granddaughter, Raelyn McNeil; and her faithful Cocker Spaniel companion, Maggie.  She was predeceased by her parents; and sister, Kathy Alward.
