Obituary of Jack Edward Stephens

Jack Edward Stephens passed away April 22, 2021, in Olympia, Washington.  He was born March 28, 1937, to Mira Belle Ellison and Jack Bishop Stephens in Denver, Colorado.

 

Jack had a great sense of humor and was generously helpful, responsible, practical, and organized.

 

Professionally, Jack was a Rocket Test Technician at Aerojet General from 1956 to 1971, and Maintenance Supervisor of heavy equipment for Washington Irrigation and Development Company (later Centralia Mining Company) from 1971 to 1998.  He loved fishing, and was an honorary member of VFW Post 5878 in Tenino.

 

He is survived by his son, Jack Stephens Jr.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his parents; stepfather, Rulon Nielson; sister, Gladys Louise “Stevie” Blocher; and step siblings, Richard and Anne Nielson.
