Obituary of Cheryl Anne Hutchinson

Cheryl Anne Hutchinson passed away peacefully at her home in Tumwater, Washington, with a heavenly salvation in view.

Cheryl was born to Elton and Peggy Cleveland in Waterbury, Connecticut, in 1950. Her childhood was in a loving, God-fearing home with her older sister, Karen Cleveland, and her younger brother, David Cleveland.

In 1971, Cheryl graduated from the Grace New Haven School of Nursing and married Jim Hutchinson of New Jersey. She worked in hospitals and doctors’ offices, but she had greater joy in being a stay-at-home mother for 18 years with her children, Elizabeth Hutchinson Wimmer and Matthew Hutchinson. Matthew and his wife Katie have two children, Naomi and Bryce.

Together, Cheryl and Jim created a home that welcomed and loved many people over the decades. The focus of Cheryl’s life was living the teachings of Jesus. She professed to serve Him at age 14 and spent the rest of her life fulfilling her promises to God. She enjoyed having an open home for God’s servants and for fellowship with others who loved God.

The family had a private memorial gathering at Jim and Cheryl’s home. We know that their many friends would like to be able to offer condolences in person if it were possible. We appreciate all who have reached out with messages of love and support, and we feel you with us in spirit.

Please leave condolences or share memories and photos on the Tribute Wall to the left.
