I met Erika while working at Willows Pond dental as a dental hygienist. She was a patient of mine. Erika came many times to my home in Wilkeson, and we would go chantrelle mushroom hunting up in the woods. I just learned of her passing and am truly saddened by it. My condolences to her family. She was a great lady and alot of fun.

I met Erika years ago through mutual friends Pam and Les Leslie. We also lived in Evergreen Estates and had wonderful get togethers at the Leslie home. I had many great visits with but one in particular stands out fondly. We shared a ride to a 50th wedding anniversary party for Pam and Les. We talked and talked both going and coming home, so much so we got lost on the way home! When we got back on track we laughed and I asked Erika not to tell Pam and Les. Of course she did! I will miss her joyful presence and wonderful smile.

We remember Erika with much love. She was our dear neighbor for 53 years, and became a part of our family. She was always happy to help with our family get-togethers and join in the festivities whenever possible.
We got together on the lawn on August 21, 2017 to watch the eclipse with our special glasses, along with our other dear neighbor Carol Hulbert. After it was over, Erika said, "I think I'll drive up to Sunrise tomorrow". We all thought it was a great idea and went the next day. As you can see in the picture, it was a perfect day!
The second picture is of her joining in the fun at our son Brian's 50th birthday party in Silverdale,WA in 2016.
We will miss her terribly. RIP dear friend.

Erika was a sweetheart, always had something interesting to share, and fun to visit with when we were in Lacey at my sister's; She lived across the street for 50+ years. Her story of coming to the USA to follow her military husband, traveling alone with 2 small children, speaking little/no English, is a tale of great courage. In early 2013, we shared plans to visit Austria and asked for travel advice. She decided to visit her Austrian family that Fall and met us for a day in Salzburg. What a delightful tour guide! We had so much fun seeing the city with her. Our sincerest condolences to Harald, Ann, and all of her family. We will miss her, too, so very much.

Erika was such an integral part of the Evergreen Estates neighborhood. The families there are close friends, especially The Hulberts (Ron, Carol, Holly, Steve) and The Leslies (Les, Pam, Traci, Brian). The first picture is Erika and John Klein (Pam & Les' son-in-law and the second is Holly, Carol, and Erika at the bridal shower for Pam's granddaughter). Erika's joyful, sunny personality will be greatly missed. We enjoyed her being part of our neighborhood "family."
