Obituary of Betty Lemert

Betty Lemert passed away peacefully on March 1, 2021, at the age of 82.  Those who knew Betty know how she enjoyed the “gift of gab.”   Whether in the grocery store or at the Post Office, she loved to engage in conversation. 

 

She was born in Reidsville, Georgia, on April 12, 1938, and moved to Seattle in 1961, where she met the love of her life, Allen Lemert.  They were married in 1964 and enjoyed life together until his passing in 2018.  Betty moved to Yelm in 1969, where she and Allen raised their family and where she lived until her passing.

 

Betty was an avid collector of antique glass, and enjoyed Saturday afternoons antiquing with her daughters.  She enjoyed cooking and baking, and always had treats from her kitchen available for friends and family.  She was affectionately known as Grandma Betty.

 

She is survived by her son, Larry (wife, Terry); son, Scott; daughter, Alisa (life partner, Mike); daughter, Annette (husband, Ernie); as well as eight grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

 

Donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
