Obituary of Dorothea Alice McCullough

Dorothea Alice McCullough passed away February 15, 2021, in Lacey, Washington.  She was born January 26, 1922, to John and Mary Seltenrich in Enid, Oklahoma.  Over the years, she also lived in Packwood, Washington; Cinebar, Washington; and Olympia, Washington.

 

Dorothea graduated from Enid High School in 1939.  She married Robert McCullough on December 14, 1941, in Hunter, Oklahoma.

 

She had a great sense of humor and was very independent. She loved to play games, especially Bingo and dice games.  She also was unbeatable at Chinese checkers.

 

Dorothea was a wonderful homemaker.  She loved baking, including the best homemade bread.  Her quilting talents led to her making many beautiful quilts.  She loved to garden, and was known to physically chase deer away from her beautiful garden and flowers.  She played piano for the church and continued playing for the residents where she resided.  She was a member of the Packwood Assembly of God.

 

Dorothea is survived by her sons, Gerald of Lakewood, Washington, Ronald of Puyallup, Washington, John of Lebanon, Oregon, and Dean of Buckley, Washington; daughters, Carol of Lacey, Washington, Mary of Olympia, Patricia of Boise, Idaho, and June of Flagstaff, Arizona; seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her parents; and loving husband, Robert (10/12/1999).
