David E. Kruse, 55, passed away of Multiple Sclerosis on February 2, 2021, in Olympia, Washington. He was born December 30, 1965, in Spokane, Washington.
A graduate of Tumwater High School Class of 1985, David crewed a fishing boat out of Westport, Washington, and in Alaska (1985-1987), and was a furniture manufacturer at Martin Furniture Co. (1987-2003).
David had a great sense of humor and a laugh that was contagious. His smile made you want to be his friend. David was always willing to help others, even strangers.
He loved being outdoors, hunting, and any type of fishing; he spent many hours in the cold, catching steelhead along the shores of the Cowlitz River at Blue Creek. David could not understand why fishing on Christmas Day was frowned upon by his family. He also loved football, baseball and NASCAR. But most of all, he loved his son, Justin. David was very proud of Justin, and he passed on his love of fishing to his son. David will be missed by his friends and family.
He is survived by his son, Justin L. Kruse (Megan), of Moses Lake, Washington; granddaughters, Emmalyn and Sutton Kruse, of Moses Lake; mother, Loretta Kruse, of Tumwater, Washington; sister, Karen A. McKinnis (Mike) of Mead, Washington; nephews, Patrick and Benjamin McKinnis, of Spokane, Washington; and niece, Katie McKinnis, of Mead. He was predeceased by his father, Edward H. Kruse.
David’s family would like to thank Ryan Caido at RyanLorene Adult Family Home for taking such wonderful care of David for the past ten years.
