Obituary of Irene (Koch) Baker

Irene Louise (Koch) Baker passed away on December 31, 2020, after a brief illness.

 

She was born on February 1, 1924, on the family farm in the Mox Chehalis Valley of Grays Harbor County, attended the one-room school in the Valley to the 8th grade, and graduated from Elma High School in 1941.

 

She was employed by the State Department of Employment Security until her marriage to David J. Baker in 1948.

 

Irene is survived by her five children, Michael Baker (Patty), Joan Iyall (Mike), Mitch Baker, Barbara Lantz (Leif) and Kathryn Patton. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

 

Irene’s husband, Dave; parents, George and Josephine (Weibel) Koch; sisters, Margaret and Mary; and brother, Karl preceded her in death.

 

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
