Obituary of Elizabeth Marsh Boardman

The warmest most beautiful smile ever! When her husband Art met Liz for the first time 10 years ago, she smiled that wonderful smile at him and he knew immediately she would be his wife! Liz said that Art was the great love of her life! She would often say she saved the best for last! The world is missing a fearless individual with a beautiful, joyful, radiant smile.

Elizabeth Marsh Boardman, of Olympia, Washington, departed this earth unexpectedly, to be with the Lord on October 19, 2020.

Liz was born on July 5, 1941, in Fort Knox, Kentucky, to Floyd Randall Waltz Jr, and Doris Dorothy (Marsh) Waltz. Liz was their first child of five. The child of an army officer, she and her family lived in many different U.S. States, and many years in Europe, where she attended the University of Heidelberg.  She later attended the University of Missouri, then graduated from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma.

Liz was a devout Christian and freely shared her love of God with everyone. In the past, she had ministered to jail inmates and had an active online ministry at the time of her death. Liz was very artistic and had created many oil paintings in earlier days. She worked as an interior designer for 30+ years. She also loved traveling with Art to winter in Arizona in their motor home, and flying to Hawaii at other times.

Liz was the loving wife of Arthur "Art" Boardman, and dear mother of Catherine Tellman Haag and Richard Evers Tellman. She was a sweet and loving grandmother to Emily Anne Ecklund, Bradley Tellman Ecklund, and Zachary Tellman. With her marriage to Art later in life, she was blessed with "bonus" children, Dennis Boardman, Kenneth Boardman, Sandra Reiber, Cheryl Nagozruk, Julie Boardman; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Liz is also survived by her brother, Randall "Randy" Waltz III; and sisters, Linn Burdick and Heidi Waltz. She is also survived by an aunt, and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her parents, preceding Liz in death were her brother, Robert Waltz, and stepson, Dennis Boardman.

Many would describe Liz as vibrant, loving, kind, intelligent, artistic, adventurous, and having a funny sense of humor! She also had a great thirst for knowledge. She would often take the extra step to help someone....anyone in need. Liz would humbly call herself a child of the Most high God.

Interment at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, Washington.
