Obituary of Marilyn R. Lundberg

Marilyn R. Lundberg, 85, passed away of natural causes on September 4, 2020 in Olympia, Washington, her home of 24 years.  She was born July 30, 1935 to Amy and Paul Thorsten Clauson in Rockford, Illinois.  Over the years, she also lived in Vashon Island, Wash.; Tacoma, Wash.; Kingsburg, Calif.; and Vancouver, Wash.

Marilyn married Keith Lundberg in July 1958 in her home church, First Evangelical Free Church, in Rockford, Ill.  She was a wonderful pastor’s wife, mother, homemaker, mentor, friend to many, secretary, and Thurston County Elections employee. Marilyn belonged to Hope Community Church.

Marilyn’s faith in Jesus was the foundation of her life. She loved God; she loved her family; she loved her friends; and she loved people and having them in her home.  Her passions included spending time with her family, hospitality, Bible study, women’s ministry, cooking, gardening and camping.  She was loyal, organized, and hard-working.  She had cared for her husband, Keith, since his stroke in 2006.

She is survived by her husband; son, Kurt Lundberg (Glenna Lundberg); daughters, Sheryl Noble (Russ Noble) and Sandy Cameron (Malcolm Cameron); eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her parents; and brother, John Clauson.

Memorial donations may be made to the Wycliffe Ministry of Bible Translators David and Avery Standley (Marilyn’s granddaughter and family) at https://www.wycliffe.org/partner/standley.
