Today I dug out my year book to see my favorite teacher. I absolutely hated high school - he assured me that I would love college- he was right- I wrote a paper on comparative religion and women’s right - he made me edited it so many times I could not count- always asking me to dig deeper. He was the teacher, hands down, that made the most difference in my life. 11/7/2021

I just saw this and am sad to hear of his passing.. Mr. Nolet was the first person in my life to tell me I could go to college but I had to get my act together. He taught me to write and master the essay exam. In AP English, he pushed me further and harder than any other teacher. Because of him, I was able to graduate from college and graduate school, earning a doctorate. He was my first editor and my most difficult one. My dissertation is dedicated to him for telling me to believe in myself like he did.
He will never be forgotten.

Mr. Nolet, not only did you teach me English, you set me on a path of loving fast cars. Six Camaro’s ,and three Trans Am’s later I always hoped we would cross paths again. I really hoped I could take you for a ride, and let you drive a toy that I have had for twenty years now. I’m sure you would hav enjoyed it. Rest In Peace Sir.

One of the most influential teachers I ever had. I believe he made me a better student and stronger person. I learned a lot from him!

I worked with Art Nolet prior to my retirement as a Counselor from Shelton High School in 2006 . I recall his genuine devotion to his students, his fun sense of humor along with the respect that he held for all of us and we for him. Rest in peace, my Friend and Colleague. There will be a time when we likely will meet again. Our destiny is/was to serve kids and you did that well and effectively.

I met this wonderful man in the fall of 1987 at Tumwater Valley, and he hired me to teach English at Shelton High School. Art and I taught side by side, (rooms close) for many years before he retired. He was one of the brightest people I knew, and his sense of humor and quick wit, was unmatched. I was not only his colleague, but a friend. We rode the train together to a Mariner's game, and we played tennis as well. We didn't like the same baseball team, so we had a running bet. If the Mariners won the season series with my team, I sent him a dollar in the mail or vice versa. We even continued that for a while after he retired. I missed Art after he retired, and I miss him now. Rest in peace my friend.

I met Art about 15 years, ago or more. Him and Kathy they use to come in where I worked. His sense of humor and mine just clicked.Through out the years he always gave me a hard time and a kind word. He was there for me when my husband passed away. Kathy if you need to talk, anytime I'm here. This is a man that left an impression. He will truly be missed.

Art was a dear friend and a cherished golf partner for over 13 years. My wife and I took many golfing trips around the state and in Oregon with Art and Kathy, always fun adventures full of laughs. We will miss his mischievous smile, unique sense of humor, and his great passion for the game of golf. He took amusement in psyching out his golfing partners when betting on different shots. After he took all of our money, with a smile he would say "I feel so bad....." His love of golf, however, was small compared to his love of his wife Kathy, to whom he was completely devoted. We will miss you dear friend. Be at peace while making the rounds of heavens links.
