Obituary of Laura O'Neal

To meet Laura O’Neal was to know Laura O’Neal. She had this magical way of opening up to people and making them friends in an instant. Laura greeted everyone she met with the same cheery smile and warm greeting. She was well known for her epic hugs and her storytelling skills. Laura was born on October 31, 1963, at Madigan Hospital at JBLM, Washington.  She graduated from Capital High School and attended Saint Martin's University, and continued to live in Lacey, Washington, her whole life. Laura had several customer service careers over the years, where she made lasting bonds and friendships. Laura committed herself to treating people with respect through her work as an insurance agent to manager at a local indoor family fun center, to her most recent work for a finger prosthetics company.

Laura passed away July 30, 2020.  She is preceded in death by her father, Henry O’Neal; mother, Kathryn O’Neal; brother, Lacey O’Neal; and sisters, Brenda O’Neal and Karen Gagnon. She is survived by brother, Thomas O’Neal; sister, Toni Coonse; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Laura is also survived by so many friends she chose as her family.

The family plans to host a Celebration of Life for Laura in the future when it is safe for all who want to gather, hug, and share their favorite memories of Laura.

In lieu of flowers, if you are so inclined, you may make a donation in Laura’s memory to an organization near and dear to her heart.
