Thomas Davis

Obituary of Thomas E. Davis

Thomas E. Davis, 69, passed away June 10, 2020, in Seattle, Washington.  He was born November 16, 1950, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Charles and Teresa Davis.  He was a 30-year resident of Olympia, Washington.

Tom served in the U.S. Army for 24 years, during which time he married Laura Szpara on June 2, 1979, at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.  After retiring from the service, Tom graduated from St. Martin’s University with a master’s degree in 1993, and worked for Washington State Department of Labor and Industries for 21 years. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Olympia.

Tom was very quiet, brainy, loving, and a thinker.  He enjoyed giving people close to him a hard time (lovingly, of course).  He also enjoyed singing, golf, boating, and spending time with his grandchildren.  He also bowled league with his son, Sean.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Laura Davis; son, Sean Davis; daughter, Shelley; brother-in-law, Stephen Szpara; sisters-in-law, Sharon Szpara and Nancy Davis; and four grandchildren.  He is predeceased by his parents, and brother, Glenn F. Davis.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Michael Parish, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
