Obituary of Thomas H. Morrin II

Thomas H. Morrin, 76, passed away December 22, 2019 in Olympia, Wash., his home of 31 years. He was born September 9, 1943 to Thomas H Morrin and Frances (Von Ahn) Morrin in San Francisco, Calif. 

Tom graduated in 1961 from Palo Alto High School, Palo Alto, Calif.  He earned a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1965 from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Mass.; a Masters of Electrical Engineering in 1968 from Seattle University, Seattle, Wash.; Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle, Wash; and a Masters in Counseling in 1985 from Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, Calif.

He worked for Boeing (1965-1971), IBM (1971-1990), and was a professor at St. Martin’s University (1990-1998).  He loved hiking, spending time in nature, installing solar panel systems, reading, volunteering, and health and wellness.

He is survived by sons, Davin Morrin (San Diego, Calif.), Craig Morrin (Yelm, Wash.); daughter, Amy Morrin (San Francisco, Calif.); two grandchildren; and sisters, Diane Morrin, Lynne Morrin, Denise (Morrin) Fabiano.

An informal potluck for family and friends to celebrate Tom’s life will be held Sunday, January 12, 2020, 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at 1529 Evergreen Park Lane SW, Olympia, WA 98502.
