Obituary of Vernon F. Julius

Vernon Francis Julius, 89, of Olympia, Washington, died December 5, 2019.  He was born February 27, 1930, in Dupo, Illinois.

 

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mary (Maupin) Julius; his sisters, Ruth Kohlenberger and Margaret Brown; and his brother, Paul Julius. His closest living relatives were his nephew, Kevin Rudesill of Olympia; his sister-in-law, Kay Rudesill of Olympia; his step-daughter, Fawn; and granddaughter, Heather Long.

 

Vernon retired from Trans World Airlines (TWA) in Los Angeles. He was a Technical Sergeant in the U.S. Army (1952-1954) and a Korean War Veteran with the Med Co 35th Infantry Regiment. He received the United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Ribbon with two Bronze Service Stars and the Combat Medical Badge. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW Post #6368 of Dupo, Illinois.

 

He was interred with full military honors at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Tumwater, Washington.
