Obituary of Elsie Lane Reynolds

Elsie Lane Reynolds left this world on December 4, 2019. She was born in Tacoma, Washington on February 10, 1926 to John Edward and Elsie Anna Stebbins. She and her sister, Alice Jane grew up near Gig Harbor in the log house their father built. Her family was blessed with the many wonderful stories that came out of those years living on Puget Sound.

Elsie married James Holbrook Reynolds on June 15, 1968 and, along with her two children, Eric and Sally, joined the Reynolds family in Aberdeen Washington. In 1971, Elsie and Jim purchased one of the two historical Lytle Houses in Hoquiam, Washington, and spent the next 20 years refurbishing and enjoying their turn-of-the-century home. They eventuality opened their home as a Bed and Breakfast and met many new friends and acquaintances.

Elsie continued her life on Puget Sound when, in 1998, she and Jim built a home on their longtime family summer home property at Youngs Cove in Olympia, Washington. Their beautiful waterfront home was a favorite gathering spot for their family and friends throughout the years.  In 2017 Elsie and Jim moved to Panorama in Lacey Washington, where Jim continues to reside.

Elsie is survived by her children and extended family, Dick (Joan) Reynolds, Ann Reynolds, Eric Reynolds, Barbara (Jim) Dickinson, Susan (Dean) Hartman, Nancy (Paul) Hoffman, Sally (Stephen) Riddle; and a wonderful, big bunch of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Elsie’s resilience and passion for life set an example for all of us who knew her. Rest In Peace our Elsie Bell.
