Obituary of Virginia Ann Ulrich

Virginia Ann Ulrich, 80, passed away October 31, 2019 in Olympia, Washington. She was born February 8, 1939 to Virginia Ann Hickey and Edwin Earl Churchill in Fort Worth, Texas, where she lived for 23 years.  A resident of Lacey, Washington, for the past 14 years, she also lived in Cincinnati, Ohio for approximately 43 years.

 

Virginia graduated from Fort Worth’s Arlington Heights High School in 1957.  She earned her Bachelor of Science in Commerce from Texas Christian University in 1961, and Masters in Education from the University of Cincinnati in 1967.

 

She married John Franklin Coate on December 22, 1962 in Cincinnati, and later married Donald A. Ulrich on June 9, 2001 in Cincinnati.

 

Professionally, Virginia worked in executive administrative support at the University of Cincinnati, at Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals, Watson Pharmaceuticals, Convergys, and was an independent sales consultant for TransArt Industries. She was a member of the United Churches of Olympia.

 

Virginia was kind, funny, smart, brave, loyal and devoted. She loved ballroom dancing, bowling, fitness, traveling, shopping, pets, and spending time with family.

 

She is survived by her husband, Donald A. Ulrich of Lacey; sons, Scott Michael Coate of Cincinnati, and Chad Stephen Coate of Fort Thomas, Kentucky; daughters, Kristin Kay Wilson of Cincinnati, and Amy Renee Hunt of Union, Kentucky; and 10 grandchildren.
