Obituary of Marcia M. Contes

Marcia M. Contes passed away peacefully September 30, 2019 at her home in Olympia, Washington, where she was born June 14, 1931 to James and Evelyn Warren.  In her later years, she was a winter “snowbird” to Why, Arizona.

Marcia graduated from Olympia High School, and married Emanuel “Tony” Contes on April 1, 1950 in Olympia.  In the late 60s, she was part owner and helped run Pioneer Resort on Long Lake in Olympia. Later, she worked as a hospital unit clerk at Providence St. Peter Hospital.  She loved traveling in her RV, working in her yard, bird watching, embroidery, baking, jig saw and crossword puzzles.

Marcia is survived by sons, Joe Contes of Kelso, Washington, and Keith Contes of Shelton, Washington; daughter, Tamara Steidle of Olympia; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life is being planned, date and location to be announced.
