Obituary of Louree P. McIntyre

Louree P. McIntyre, also known as Lou, was born on January 23, 1925 to Herbert and Vida Patterson in Midland, Texas.  She passed away on September 11, 2019 at the age of 94.

Although born in the state of Texas, Lou grew up in Fullerton, California, where she completed her schooling, married, and began her family.  She and her husband moved to Bremerton, Washington in 1953, where they raised their sons.

Lou worked for the Federal Government, both in Bremerton and Seattle.  She retired from the Federal Department of Health and Human Services Agency, Medicare Division, and moved to the Olympia, Washington area after retiring.

Lou is survived by her sons, Roderick (wife, Delores) of Schertz, Texas, James of Port Angeles, Washington, and Thomas (wife, Lynette) of Lacey, Washington; grandsons, Justin (wife Lindy) of Olympia, Mathew (wife, Jena) of Sedro Woolley, Washington, Jonathan of Bellingham, Hayden of Seattle, and Vincent (wife, Randi) of Sequim, Washington; granddaughters, Heather of Seattle and Amanda of Seattle; great granddaughters, Evey, Lela, Madelynn, Sydnee and Charlotte; great grandson, Elton; and sister, Joyce Sparks (husband, Richard) of Bellevue, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Patricia (husband, Peter Ruff) of Wenatchee, Washington.

Lou was a warm and caring individual who always had a kind word and smile for everyone she encountered.  She was a wonderful mother, sister, auntie, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She truly loved her family, friends and neighbors, and delighted in the opportunities when she was able to share time with them.  She was a great cook, and loved feeding her family and friends.  In her later years, she particularly enjoyed bird watching and gardening.

At her request, there will be no service, but a gathering of remembrance will be scheduled at a later date for family and friends.
