Obituary of James Michael Watson

James Michael Watson, also known as “Jim Dandy,” was born in Monterey Park, California on March 8, 1939 to Karl Acy Watson and Dorothy Margaret Hall. He passed away on August 6, 2019 at the age of 80.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert E. Watson; and his sister, Nancy Lee Watson. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean L. Watson; his sons, Richard M. Wilson and Todd T. Watson; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.

Jim was very proud of his time as a firefighter in Costa Mesa, California. He moved to Olympia, Washington, and started Northwest Janitorial Service and was very successful for a number of years.

Jim loved California, especially the sunshine, the surfing, and the desert. He also had a love for street rod customs. He built several beautiful custom cars over his lifetime. He was very talented. He loved traveling, adventures, trains and exploring the back roads. He really enjoyed going on motorcycle rides with his boys. Jim loved life. He loved his family most of all.

Jim Watson will be forever loved and missed. In his own words, “I love God, my wife, street rod customs and my grandkids! Deal with it!” We love you Jim. Rest in Peace.

A private celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Fort Borst Park.
