Obituary of Daniel Carl Davis

On August 19, 2018, we lost a beloved man when he joined God in heaven as he passed unexpectedly at home, at the young age of 53. He was surrounded by his family.

Daniel Carl Davis was born in Olympia, Washington, to Ronald C. Davis and Barbara L. Salter, on November 25, 1964.

He went to high school at Capital High and was on the wrestling team, but enjoyed weight lifting and football as well. He worked as a landscaper most his life and had a huge passion for working on cars. He could do anything and everything, a jack of all trades. He would help anyone if they needed it, especially his children, and would drop everything just for them.

He really enjoyed spending time with his kids, and other family and friends, making everyone laugh. He also loved playing video games and was highly skilled at guitar hero.  When he wasn’t working or helping everyone else, he enjoyed working on and maintaining his cars, and was proud of how clean and great they ran.

In his earlier years, he enjoyed spending time at the Olympia/Tenino Speedway, working on his father’s pit crew.

Dan was an excellent “shade-tree mechanic” and could do everything from restoring muscle cars to keeping his family’s and friends’ cars maintained. He was a friend to all and everyone he met loved him. He was goofy and would often make us laugh. He was comical, wise and loving. What wonderful gifts he bestowed on us. A true child at heart who was loved by so many, all he befriended became life long friends.

He has left a void in so many lives.

Dan is survived by his wife, Michelle Davis; his daughter, Dana Davis; his sons, Jacob Davis and Blake Johnson; his siblings, Kelly Davis and Oliver Davis; his father and stepmother, Ronald and Susan Davis; and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, Barbara L Hannah (Salter); and both sets of grandparents.

He was an amazing son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle who was greatly loved and is greatly missed.

Our hearts and lives will never be the same without him.  He had so much more life to live.

We miss him today, tomorrow and forever.
