Obituary of Edna Irene Johnson

Edna passed away July 9, 2019 in Lacey, Washington, at age 100.  She was born February 13, 1919 to Ernest Samuel and Celia (Badley) Young in Post Falls, Idaho.

Edna married Fred John Johnson Jr. on July 8, 1936, and they raised their family in Lake Stevens, Washington. She later resided in Yelm, Washington for over 35 years.

Edna earned her LPN in Idaho, and beautician license in Oregon, where she owned a beauty shop.  She taught hula dancing, and enjoyed flower arranging, gardening, crocheting, and playing the organ. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

Edna is survived by two daughters, Carol Dunaway of Shelton, Washington, and Shirley Kelley of Yelm, Washington; multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great-great grandson, Baryden Barney.  She was predeceased by husband, Fred John Johnson Jr.; daughter, Betty Jean Johnson; parents; six sisters; and a brother.

A viewing will be held Monday, July 22, 2019, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Lemley Funeral Chapel, 1008 3rd St., Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284, with a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at Union Cemetery, 1450 Wicker Road, Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284.
