Obituary of Cheryl Ibabao Peterson

Cheryl Ibabao “Dee Dee/Pino” Peterson passed away June 6, 2019 at Puget Sound Health Care in Olympia, Washington. She was born November 5, 1945 to Nicanor Taran Ibabao and Maxine Nellie (Clark) Ibabao in The Dalles, Oregon. She resided in Grays Harbor most of her life, moving to Olympia in 2000.

Cheryl married Dennis Peterson and they had three children.

She was owner/operator of Pino’s Hair Styling, and also worked as a hairdresser at Pat’s Trim and Style and Elaine’s Hair Dimensions.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting and reading.  She loved to journal and write letters to her family.  Getting in the car and taking drives were also favorites of hers. 

Cheryl is survived by daughters, Mardee (Kirk) Beatty, Marcee (Choya) Peterson, Rency (Stan) Helberg; five granddaughters, Alexis, Gabrielle, Lilly, Destinee and Trinitee; three grandsons, Nicholas, Jakobee and Quincee; brothers, Steve Ibabao of Cosmopolis, Washington, and Conrad Ibabao of Portland, Oregon; sister, Arlita Spears of Honolulu; former spouse, Dennis Peterson. She is predeceased by her parents; and eldest sister, Bonnie Naumu.

Services will be held Friday, July 12, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501.
