Obituary of Robert Edward Nerney Jr.

Robert Edward Nerney, Jr. passed away March 29, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he lived the past eight years.  He was born January 26, 1958 to Robert Edward Nerney, Sr. and Loretta Jean (Sodden) Nerney in Olympia, Washington.

 

He attended St. Martins High School, and was a special events flagger for T-Mobile Arena.  He married Jennifer Leigh Cummings on April 2, 2012 in Las Vegas, the 11th anniversary of their first date.

 

Bob was a compassionate man who would give you the shirt off of his back.  He loved to tell stories, often with slight exaggeration and colorful embellishment.  He adored his friends and family. Among his hobbies were motorcycle riding, fishing, baseball, pool (billiard) league, and attending concerts.

 

Bob is survived by his wife, Jennifer Leigh Nerney of Las Vegas; son, Andrew James Nerney-Wright; daughter, Natashia Tharaldson; stepdaughters, Sarah Sulla and Hannah Cummings; six grandchildren; brothers, Patrick Nerney, Larry Nerney, James Nerney; and sister, Lorrie Nerney.  He was predeceased by his mother, Loretta Jean (Sodden) Nerney, father, Robert Edward Nerney, Sr., and brother, James Nerney.

 

A Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 15, 2019, 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 812 Bowker St. SE, Lacey, WA 98503.
