Obituary of Rhonda Lou Giles

Rhonda Lou Giles passed peacefully Sunday, March 31, 2019, just two days short of her 67th birthday. After suffering a difficult birth, life for Rhonda had many challenges, but she found much happiness in her family activities. She loved playing cards with grandparents, Clarence and Gertrude Lloyd, and going on fishing trips with them. She lived for going on rides with her parents, Richard and Jennie Giles. Her favorite thing was to search for wildlife, spotting elk herds was her excitement.

She dearly loved her two nephews, Douglas and Lance Slosson. Back when she could still run and play ball, she amazed them with her throwing arm and lawn dart skills. Her cousins played a big role in her life; they all enjoyed her crazy laughter, her ability to remember their birthdays and other special occasions, and she loved them.

Rhonda attended Roosevelt Elementary and John Rogers schools special ed, and she also attended Morningside in its beginning. One thing she was proud of was her medals earned in Special Olympics bowling.

Rhonda made many people smile with her silly jokes that didn't usually make sense or have a punch line, but that was okay; she laughed all the louder. For someone who wasn't expected to survive past ages eight or nine, she showed them; way to go Rhonda -- job well done.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her grandparents; her Mom and Dad; and her beloved nephew, Doug. She is survived by a sister, Nyla Slosson (Larry); nephew, Lance Slosson (Chancli); and three great nephews, a great niece, and numerous cousins.
