Obituary of Jon Roger Moore

Jon Roger Moore, 71, born September 13, 1947, passed away after a brief illness on March 1, 2019, surrounded by the everlasting love of his family and friends.

Jon was born to William and Bessie Moore of Elma, Washington. From the beginning, he was an over achiever, walking when he was seven months old. Jon excelled at everything he did, from high school sports (state champion Elma Eagles) to academia and into the role of father, teacher and then on to his passion, antiques. He could always tell that there was something amazing hiding under the old paint and varnish.

Being outdoors was something Jon loved. Fishing and clam digging were a few of his favorites.  Jon had been an avid golfer, even hitting a hole in one a few years back.  A Corvette lover, he got his first one while in high school. Jon loved animals; he would rarely be seen without his beloved dogs.

Jon always had a generous spirit and willingness to help others. He impacted many lives, for that we are so thankful and proud. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Moore; children, and grandchildren.

No service will be held.  Instead, a gathering to celebrate his life will take place near the ocean at a later date.

"A great soul serves everyone all the time.  A great soul never dies.  It brings us together again and again." --Maya Angelou
