Obituary of Tim A. Bittrick
Tim A. Bittrick, 56, passed away peacefully of ALS on March 28, 2019 at his home in Olympia, Washington, where he resided more than 35 years. He was born September 13, 1962 to John and Irene Bittrick in Spokane, Washington.
A 1981 graduate of Spokane’s Central Valley High School, Tim attended The Evergreen State College, and earned his teaching degree from Central Washington University. He was an elementary school teacher in Thurston County, most recently at Seven Oaks where he taught third through sixth grades. Teaching was a passion.
Tim loved sports and was a huge fan of the San Francisco Giants (baseball), Golden State Warriors (basketball), and Gonzaga Bulldogs (basketball). He loved being in nature, and especially enjoyed Glacier National Park. He also enjoyed music, cooking, beer tasting, and history.
Tim will be remembered as being generous, sensitive, humorous, compassionate and kind. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
He is survived by children, Brett, Emily, Peter and Katherine Bittrick; mother, Irene Bittrick; brother, Mike Bittrick; sister, Heidi Gowland; and Henry the dog. He was predeceased by his father, John Bittrick; and grandparents, Roy and Dorothy Fryhling, and Art and Gwen Bittrick.
A mass will be held Friday, April 5, 2019, 12:00 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1204 11th Ave. SE, Olympia, WA 98501.
