Jason Loree

Obituary of Jason Robert Loree

Jason passed away January 25, 2019 at the age of 42. He was born in Olympia, Washington, on September 27, 1976 to Norma (Garrett) Loree and Robert Loree. The family planted roots in Tumwater, Washington.

Jason attended Tumwater High School and New Market Skill Center. He participated in construction trades at New Market and found his passion.

Jason found love early and married Tammy Dressel on April 26, 1998. They built a life and home in Tumwater. They were blessed with two daughters, Jordyn and Baylee. After 20 years, the couple separated but Jason never wavered in his love and devotion to his girls.

Jason first began working as a contractor for differing companies. He learned the trade and developed an acute attention to detail. He prided himself on a job well done.  In 2005, he started his own business, Crite Construction. He followed his calling, first with framing and general contracting, then blossomed into finishing work. He loved helping friends and loved ones with projects. He was always ready with a pencil, level, tape measure and hammer.

Jason was active in his church. He followed in his mother’s footsteps and became a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He became an elder and participated in many groups and planning committees for the church.

Jason enjoyed boating, fishing, wake boarding and spending time with his family.  He loved Priest Lake. When he wasn’t enjoying the water at the lake, he loved reading, shooting, hunting and writing. Most of all, Jason loved being a father, brother and an uncle.

Jason is preceded in death by his mother, father, and grandparents. He is survived by his daughters, Jordyn and Baylee; brother, David (Gina); niece, Elizabeth; and nephews, Jeff and Garrett. He is also survived by several aunts and an uncle, and several cousins who will all miss him greatly.

Many who knew Jason can comment on his overall generous and warm nature. He was the one to call when you needed help, but also to celebrate. He was a support anchor for his family. Though we will never understand why he was taken from us, we are left with wonderful memories and the warmth of his hug and enough love to last a lifetime.

You are deeply missed and loved, Jason. We will always love and miss your laugh, joy and your love.

A celebration of Jason’s life will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Olympia. Come dressed in casual attire as Jason was not a formal person. (Priest Lake sweatshirts are always welcome.) We will honor the life of Jason with friends, family and community.

A memorial donation may be made to New Market Foundation in Jason’s name for his scholarship.
