Obituary of Thomas Warren Henson

Thomas Warren Henson, age 62, passed away after a long illness on February 1, 2019 in Yelm, Washington, his home of 30 years.  He was born June 22, 1956 in Ft. Benning, Georgia.

 

Tom graduated from Bartlett High School in Anchorage, Alaska in 1974.  He served in the Civil Air Patrol in Anchorage in 1974 and the Army National Guard from 1975 to 1998. He worked as an LPN from 1975 to 2011, and was a volunteer EMT/firefighter with the Yelm Fire Department from 1990 to 2010.  He was an active member of the Yelm Lions Club.

 

Tom married Mildred J. Bellore on January 6, 2001 in Yelm.

 

A friend wrote of Tom:  “This was the loss of a veteran, nurse, firefighter, woodworker, Scout leader, and collector, but most of all a neighbor and friend.”

 

Tom is survived by his wife, Mildred J. Henson of Yelm; sons, Rohe W.B. Hawley (Jessica) of Anchorage, and Mackenzie K.J. Hawley (Krista) of Mount Lake Terrace, Washington; three grandchildren; brothers, Hans J.B. Henson (Janet) of Dunnellon, Florida, and Wolfgang K. Henson (Vesper) of Yelm; two nieces and two nephews; and many extended family members and loving friends.  He was predeceased by his father, Bonnie C. Henson; and mother, Irmtraud L. Henson.

 

Services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 602 103rd Ave. SE, Yelm, WA 98597.  Reception to follow.
