Obituary of Kathy Lynn Morris

Kathy Lynn Morris passed away January 23, 1955 in Tumwater, Washington, her home of 25 years.  She was born May 11, 1955 to Helen W. and Earl Morris in Bethesda, Maryland.

Kathy graduated from Olympia High School, and earned a BA from the University of Washington in 1988, and an MA in 1991.  She was an English professor at various colleges and universities, including St. Martin’s University and South Puget Sound Community College.  She also spent a year in Fukuoka, Japan, where she taught English at a junior college. Teaching was her passion.

Kathy had an infectious laugh and ready wit.  She loved the universe and everything in it, especially the fantastic birds and colorful flowers.  She enjoyed meeting new people and made friends easily.  Kathy was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, “Y” master swim club, and a Olympia Camera Club.

She is survived by her mother; and brother, Earl George Morris of Virginia

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, May 11, 2019 (her birthday), 11:00 a.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1515 Harrison Ave. NW, Olympia, WA 98502. Reception following service.  Memorial donations may be made to the church.
