Obituary of Ellison Bonnie Lou

Bonnie Lou (Hjert) Ellison, 76, died peacefully, surrounded by Love, on November 18, 2018 at 4:44 a.m.  Bonnie loved the Christmas season and, when she passed away, her favorite song, Silent Night, was playing in the background.

Bonnie was born in Seattle, Washington, and was a graduate of Shoreline High School in 1960. She then attended the University of Washington.  Bonnie was also a Seattle Seafair Princess finalist.

Bonnie worked as a secretary for many years before transitioning into the family business as a bookkeeper.  Bonnie also took pride in being a homemaker and remodeling her first home with DIY projects. She was an amazing cook and loved making Scandinavian desserts. She enjoyed reading, playing tennis, walking on the beach with her dog Pepper, and taking baths to relax.  Bonnie loved the music of Elvis and the soul sounds of Diana Ross.

Bonnie used to waterski, even though she never learned to swim. She tried snow skiing a few times, but found her specialty was drinking hot toddies at the lodge instead. She had to have the HSN channel on every television in the house because she was a big supporter and wanted to stay tuned while going from room to room throughout the day. One of her favorite pastimes was playing slots at the casino; sometimes she would have two machines running at the same time side by side.  With her love of the holidays, she also watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving and Christmas parades on TV; her daughters carry on that tradition as well.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her mother, Alice; father, Edwin; and twin brother, Donald, who also passed away on the same day seven years prior.  Bonnie also lost her beloved dog, Dr. Pepper, a few years ago.

Bonnie survived by her two children, Sonja and Katrina; three grandchildren; and her older sister, Barb.
