Obituary of Judy Ann Scott

Judy Ann Scott returned to her heavenly home on November 5, 2018, after a brief illness.  Her love of her family and friends and her faith supported her during this time and gave her peace.

Judy was born to Frank Scott and Patricia Scott Ali on July 2, 1957 in Camp LeJeune Naval Hospital in Jacksonville North Carolina.  Judy was baptized as a child into the Catholic faith.  She grew up in Harlem, New York, and Detroit, Michigan, and graduated from Redford High School in 1975.  She attended Prairie View A&M University and worked for the Exxon Corporation in Houston, Texas. Judy left Houston to travel the world extensively.  After returning to the United States, she settled in the Olympia, Washington area, where she attended and graduated from The Evergreen State College.  At the time of Judy’s death, she was living in Yelm, Washington, in the shadow of the beautiful Mount Reiner.

While living in the Olympia area, she worked at multiple locations but her primary and favorite was Radiance Herbs and Massage, where she worked as a manager.  There she met many wonderful people and friends who ultimately became her “Washington Family.”  Judy and her sister, Karen, moved their mother to Olympia so that she could be near to her and care for her.  Judy was a beautiful person inside and out.  She loved life and loved her family and friends.  She was a spiritual person who loved nature.  Judy was a light on this earth that made everyone’s life better for having known her. To honor her, we should remember the smile that she put on our faces and try to multiply that smile to all the people that we meet.

Judy is survived by her mother, Patricia (Olympia, Washington) and father, Frank (Stewartsville, New Jersey); sisters, Karen “Lizzy” Scott--only Judy could call her Lizzy  (Houston, Texas), Dawn Owens (Fayetteville, North Carolina); brothers, Eric Scott (Middletown, New York) and Sterling Scott (Stewartsville, New Jersey); and a host of family and friends.

Judy’s family would like to thank her “Washington Family,” Andrea, Karin, Jack and all of the beautiful people we were blessed to meet during this time.  Thank you for the love and support that you showed during this difficult time.  We pray that God will bless you and keep you always.

The family gratefully declines flowers but prayers, condolences and memories are gladly accepted.
