Obituary of Marion Bush

Marion Bush, 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 9, 2018, in Olympia, WA.  Marion was born on November 20, 1921, and lived in Somer’s Point, New Jersey for 22 years.  She spent many summer nights at Steel Pier in Atlantic City listening to big bands and dancing the night away!

She enlisted in the Navy in 1943 to serve her country where she served as a storekeeper during World War II. She was stationed at Bremerton Naval Shipyard, where she met the love of her life, Boyd Bush, who was also serving in the Navy. They married six months after meeting and were married for 62 years.

Family was everything to Marion.  She loved being a mother and grandmother and cherished every minute spent with her family, especially during the holidays when she loved to cook some of her delicious recipes.  An avid beach goer, she adored spending her summers at Alki Beach with the family in the 60’s and also treasured her numerous trips to Oahu.  A job transfer for Boyd relocated the family to West Vancouver, BC in 1965.  The family spent the next five years enjoying every minute living there -  Marion said it was one of the best times of her life. In 1970, the family moved to Bellevue where she spent the next 48 years enjoying time with friends and family and her passion for reading until the wee hours of the night.

She is survived by her sister, Betty Brown (Kenosha); sister-in-law, Amy Baker (Tampa); daughter, Leslee Bush (Olympia); sons, Michael Bush (Sacramento) and Gordon Bush (Bellevue); and granddaughters, Nicole Bednarczyk and Danielle Bednarczyk.  Her husband, Boyd, preceded her in death in 2007.
