Obituary of Anne Mae (Hendrex) McRae

Anne Mae (Hendrex) McRae died September 21, 2018 in Olympia, Washington, after many years of a chronic disease.  She was born in Omak, Washington on October 4, 1947.  She graduated with honors from Omak High School in 1966.  She attended Deaconess School of Nursing and San Jose City College, graduating with her RN license.

 

Anne spent 38 years as an emergency room nurse (1980-2008), teaching classes for ACLS, TNCC.  She also worked at O’Connor Hospital in California before moving back to Washington in 1976.  Anne worked several years at Deaconess Hospital, which later became Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.  The last several years, she had worked as charge nurse in the Radiology Department at Olympia’s St. Peter Hospital.  She retired due to disability in June 2008. She also worked for Group Health Treatment Center in Tacoma, Washington on her days off.  She made lots of friends and left a lasting impression on many doctors and other nurses.  She truly loved what she did.

 

She was preceded in death by her dad, Neil Hendrex (2008); mom and best friend, Anne Hendrex (2010); brothers, Bill (1989), Jamie (1984); infant daughter  (1975). She is survived by her sister, Sherry; son, Ken (Katie); grandkids, Liam, Olivia, Lucie and Elisabeth; son, Sean; sister-in-law, Vonnie; nephew, Erik, niece, Dawn and their families; and her companion of many years, Bill King.  She also leaves behind many very wonderful, caring friends.

 

A potluck Celebration of Life will be held, Saturday, October 6, 2018, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 7402 20th Ave. SE, Lacey, WA 98503.
