Obituary of Beverly Adams Hicks

A lifetime resident of the Centralia/Chehalis, Washington area, Beverly (Adams) Hicks passed away June 13, 2018 in Centralia, at age 90.  She was born March 11, 1928, in Chehalis, the oldest of five children born to Elmer and Ona (Snelson) Adams; her younger brothers are Donald and James, who are both deceased; Thomas; and William (Joyce).

Beverly married Raymond Orr and they had four children, Michael (Sandra) Orr, the late Robert (Pam) Orr, Lynnette (George) Martin, and Lorraine Orr.  In 1986, she married Simms Hicks, adding three step-daughters to her family: Lynn Hartley (Clark), Rhenae (Steve) Lengel, and Janelle Hicks.

Beverly worked for Safeway in Centralia for 20 years, retiring in 1988 to travel and enjoy her many grandchildren.  Her hobbies and activities over the years have included cake decorating, sewing, crocheting, traveling, and water aerobics, which she was doing three days a week at the time of her passing.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, 1113 Caveness Drive, Centralia, WA 98531. A gathering will follow at Borst Park Kitchen 1.

Memorial donations may be made to Seattle Children’s Hospital or charity of choice.
