Obituary of Norman C. Johanesen

Norman C. Johanesen, 75, passed away after a long illness on May 16, 2018 on Anderson Island, Washington, his home of 23 years. He was born February 8, 1943 to Phillip and Ina Johanesen in Seattle, Washington. Norman graduated from high school in Seattle and attended a year of college, married Janice Hayes in Bellevue, Washington, and lived in Renton, Washington from 1972 to 1995.

 

Professionally, Norman worked for the Seattle School District as a receiving clerk for 28 years. A loyal, respectful and compassionate person, he enjoyed yard work and golf, especially community and family golf tournaments. He belonged to the Riviera Men’s Club.

 

Norman is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janice Johanesen of Anderson Island; sons, Todd Johanesen of Washington, D.C., Gregg Johanesen of Bakersfield, California, and Eugene Hancock of Auburn, Washington; daughter, Cindy Lu Hancock of Renton; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, David Johanesen of Paulsbo, Washington; and sister, Joyce Hamack of Seattle. He was predeceased by his parents; and daughter, Diana Lynn Hancock.
