Obituary of Judy L. Briscoe

Judy, 51, passed away due to cancer on July 4, 2014, in Olympia, Washington. She was born April 16, 1963, to Wesley S. and Phyllis A. Anderson in Olympia. Judy was in the class of 1981 at Tumwater High School, and attended Barstow Community College in Barstow, California. She married Tony D. Briscoe on October 23, 1987. Judy worked in civil service with defense contractors supporting the U.S. Army. In 2012, she worked with Honeywell International in Afghanistan. She also worked for Sunset Life Insurance in Tumwater (1983 – 1987) and CSC and Raytheon at Fort Irwin, California and Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington (1989 – 2012). She also spent several years in Germany. Judy was a patriotic person, proud of her country and especially respected the soldiers she worked with at Fort Irwin, Joint Base Lewis McChord, and Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. Judy had a kind heart, was loving and caring. She enjoyed crafts, volunteering with children’s programs, and spending time with her many friends. She was also a practical joker who could light up a room. She is survived by her husband, Tony; son, Taylor A.D. Briscoe of Tumwater; daughters, Tabatha E. Lofland of Florida and Brittany A. Brown of Tacoma.; four grandchildren, Kingston, Jaxon, Olivia and Saylor; mother, Phyllis Anderson of Tumwater; brother, Jim Andersen of Olympia; sisters, Suzanna Dethlefs of Olympia, Nancy Ziesemer of Tenino, and Jennie Anderson of Tumwater. She was predeceased by her father, Wesley S. Anderson; and grandson, Nasir Brown. Judy was blessed to have special people in her life outside of her immediate family.
