Obituary of Paul William Niebel

Sergeant First Class Paul William Niebel (retired) Paul William Niebel, 82, of Pueblo, Colorado, died Monday, May 9, 2005. He was born July 11, 1922 in Depew, Oklahoma to Harry Levi and Gertrude Pearl (Walker) Niebel. He married Raymona Merritt. She died in 1981. Paul served in the United States Army during World War II, the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After he retired from the military he worked as a police officer in Toledo. Before moving to Colorado, Paul lived in Bend, Oregon, Vanderhoof, British Columbia, and Olympia. He loved to go for coffee and talk to locals. He was a “rancher from Canada”. Paul us survived by three sons, Paul Douglas (Delores), of Colorado, Karl Dennis (Diann) of Washington, Dale Richard (Becky) of Nevada; two daughters, Lyndia Snyder (David), of British Columbia, Judy Lerdal (Steven), of South Dakota, one stepdaughter, Diane Decker, of Washington; ten grandchildren, six step-grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and five step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, two stepdaughters, and one stepson. A gathering will be held following the services at the Tyee Center, 5757 Littlerock Road S.W., Tumwater.
