Obituary of Pamela Joyce Wirhol

Pamela Joyce Wirhol Spiegel passed away October 31, 2014 in Olympia, Washington. She was born to Harold E. and Patricia J. Weeks on July 31, 1946 in Tacoma, Washington. A 68-year resident of Olympia, she graduated from North Thurston High School in 1964, and earned a Business Administration Certificate from Olympia Business School that same year. Pam married Dale Spiegel in Reno, Nevada on October 2, 1995. She worked for the Washington State Liquor Control Board for 30 years, from 1964 to retirement in 1994. She also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Olympia VFW Post 318. Pam was a funny lady who had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh. She was kind, smart, strong-willed and a devoted patriot who loved her country. She was a diehard Seahawks fan – the “Best 12th Man” — and a University of Washington Huskies fan. She loved the ocean beaches (her salvation), meeting people, golf, dancing, music, Elvis, the Three Stooges, animals (especially her grand-dogs, whales and dolphins), cooking, casinos, clam digging, the moon and the stars. She loved celebrating the holidays with family and friends and was compassionate about her collection of Santa Clauses and nutcrackers. A one-of-a-kind, special lady, Pam was also a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin and loyal friend. She is survived by her husband, Dale A. Spiegel Sr. of Olympia; daughters, Brenda Lyn Smith of Butte, Montana, and Shelley Marie Malcolm and husband Chris of Olympia; stepdaughters, Theresa Dake of Northglenn, Colorado, Lisa Spiegel of Boulder, Colorado, and Amy Silverberg of Denver, Colorado; stepsons, Dale A. Spiegel Jr. and wife Mary of Rancho Palos Verdes, California, and Mark F. Spiegel and wife Liz of Boulder, Colorado; grandchildren, Brian, Sierra and Justin Smith, and Brooklyn and Dallas Malcolm; one great grandchild on the way; brother, Mark Douglas Weeks and wife Gabi of Toledo, Washington; and sisters, Paulette (Polly) Raico and husband Rich of Olympia; and best friend, Sherry Alexander of Elma, Washington. She was predeceased by her parents Harold and Patricia Weeks; and grandparents, Carl and Ella Buselmeier, and Noah and Maude Weeks.
