Obituary of Charles Allred

Charles Allred passed away on July 15, 2014 in Olympia, Washington, at the age of 90. He was born on June 7, 1924 to Carl Harvey and Daisy Bell (Heath) Allred in Evaline, Washington. Charles graduated from Olympia High School, and then began his continued education at the University of Minnesota before moving to Brigham Young University where he attended for two years. Charles served his country by serving in the Navy during World War II. He also served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Charles married the love of his life, Erlene V Willardson, on November 12, 1947 in Mesa, Arizona. Charles and Erlene were blessed with four children, Grant, Carl, Charlene and Pauline. Charles provided for his family as an electrician, a chemist in dairy, a dairy salesman, and an insurance agent. He enjoyed occupying his free time with genealogy, geology, inventing, doing experiments, digging holes, and fishing. Although he was quiet, he loved to make people laugh and, for this, he will be greatly missed. Charles is survived by his son, Grant Charles Allred; daughters, Charlene Haslam and Pauline Gielisch; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and sister, Margaret Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erlene; son, Carl; parents, Carl and Daisy, brothers, Arthur, Ivan, Dean; and sister, Ila May. The family suggests donations be made in Charles memory to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund or to the LDS Missionary Fund.
